I get it. I spent all of my twenties yo-yo dieting, thinking that I wouldn’t be able to get pregnant and struggling to control my PCOS. It took a pretty horrific situation (you can read more about it here) to get my act together and get to a place where I was able to get pregnant and have my two boys. Spoiler alert – I didn’t do it by losing weight.

It’s unthinkable that you should try and get pregnant just as you are.

Our bodies are insanely complicated, which is great when we’re going about our daily business, but when something goes wrong, it means we need to dig deep into what is happening in every area of your life (even if you are sure it’s not related to your fertility) to uncover what the hell is going on.

Everything is interconnected and sometimes working on something that you think couldn’t possibly be connected will be the missing link and everything will fall into place.

We will also be working on tools that you can use to advocate for your body with other healthcare professionals. You will never leave the doctors office again feeling judged, ignored and ashamed of your body.

A few weeks ago I saw Nicola’s logo pop up on a fertility seminar advert. Since that moment my whole perspective on my health and my worth has completely changed.

By following her FAT positive framework, I have initiated dialogue with my local health board and member of parliament to review my case. I am beginning to understand that the way I have been treated is completely unethical and all the horrid and brutal things that I have been told time and time again through my life have been nothing other than cruel and fat phobic.

I am healthy, I am worthy, I deserve help in times of need like everyone else. We can’t let other people keep being treated like this and must try and help them to realise not  to only measure their worth on the scales. It is taking a lot of work to unpick the myriad   false truths that I think throughout the day: I shouldn’t have eaten so much on holiday… ( why not? I was ON HOLIDAY)…but I am getting there and getting stronger. I love you Nicola! 


I felt that our work together was really affirming as it helped me to think about my health and fertility from a holistic perspective. It helped to remind me that my body is a lot smarter than my brain and I can be lead by what makes my body feel healthy and well. I’ve started tracking my BBT and am being much more diligent about doing my healthful practices everyday – drinking more water, taking supplements, going for walks.

But definitely the biggest positive is that I found out that I’m already pregnant!!! It’s early days; I think I’m about 5 weeks but will have a dating scan in a few weeks to confirm. I’m feeling really grateful to my body for getting me this far, though I’m also quite nervous about whether my body will hold the pregnancy. But all in all it’s great news!


Using my FAT POSITIVE framework we’ll:

Formulate: Create a plan to take your health (physical, mental, spiritual and everything else in between) from where it is right now to where you want it to be.

 Advocate: Work together to give you the tools to advocate for your own body with other healthcare professionals.

 Trust: Learn how to trust your own body and your gut instincts so you can work with your body to achieve your goal of getting pregnant.

 Positive: Shift your inner monologue from “I’m too fat to get pregnant” to “I know my body is capable of having a healthy and successful pregnancy”

Here’s how it works:


☎️  We book in our first foundational call together (60mins) so that together we can uncover what is going on and create a plan of action using the FAT+ve framework. We start by formulating a plan how to make big shifts in your health, wellbeing and fertility. At the end of our first call you will come away with a series of action steps and feel really clear about what your next step is.

☕️  Every week for twelve weeks, we meet online for 45mins so that we can delve even deeper as you integrate the plan from the foundational call into your day-to-day life .

We’ll chat about the steps you’ve taken, what’s been going well, what you feel you need more support on, what challenges you’ve come across and how you can overcome them without feeling overwhelmed or stressed.

We then build upon the other key areas of the framework as needed so that you can attend doctors appointments with confidence, create a positive mindset in your day to day life and learn how to become your own expert on your body.

?  I’ll be there at the end of an email every day. Whether you have a question about how you can get a better night’s sleep tonight, how to get through the rest of your day at work when your colleague just announced she’s pregnant, what to do when your period came early and all those other hundreds of anxieties/worries/stresses going through your head, just send me an email and we’ll work through it together.

I cannot guarantee you’ll get pregnant but all these things together will propel you towards feeling better than you did 10 years ago and more yourself than ever before, which will significantly increase your chances of being able to conceive.


There will be no weighing scales and no measuring tape. You will finally make peace with your body, after all it’s going to be your baby’s first home.

When we started working together I was feeling overwhelmed by fear and anxiety, full of negativity, blame and anger and beating myself up for feeling like this. I was completely unable to discern useful lifestyle changes to make and lacking the tools to bring them in realistically.

I was afraid that engaging more with fertility coaching would cause it to further dominate and consume my life – in fact the opposite happened – I feel more empowered to honour the importance of this journey and what comes up but also able to hold and focus on other parts of life.

 I now feel more positive and in control of my lifestyle and more accepting of the challenges of this fertilty journey and everything it brings up. I feel more able to accept difficult emotions rather than shutting them out or beating myself up about feeling them.

I have made significant changes to my diet and self-care regime (including making more time for meditation, exercise and better sleep!) and feel very good about this. I have a deeper sense of genuine hopefulness for the future whatever it brings
